This month is one of the most important times on the fisherman's calender, with water temperatures rising, hatches becoming stronger, warmer winds and weed growth becoming more prominent in both rivers and lakes.

The buzzer hatches are at their strongest now, though Welsh waters will be behind the English and Irish waters with hatches in late June.

The lakes will now have good stocks of fish that have been stocks since february, giving the angler plenty to throw at.
